Hi…my name is Bubba.
I am the only surviving member of a four-kitten litter that was found in Tubac when we were only a few days old. When we were brought to TALGV we were way too young to eat on our own, so a wonderful volunteer took us home and hand fed us every two hours and tended to our “needs” for weeks. Sadly, my siblings didn’t make it, but I hung on, and now I’m here to tell you that I am one lucky little whippersnapper! When I finally got to visit to the veterinarian, he immediately said that I looked like an Egyptian Mau (a wonderful, rare breed that you can read more about on the Internet). It turns out that I have something called “mega-esophagus,” which means that because my esophagus is enlarged, food has a bit of trouble getting down, which results in my sometimes bringing it back up! Well, despite that, I am gaining weight like mad (I weigh 8 pounds, so you know that most of my food is getting where it needs to!), and my foster mom says that I am the most loving cat she’s ever had the privilege of caring for. She says that I purr like a Ferrari, would like to spend all day cuddling with you, and follow her around like a puppy. I am going to need some special care from my people, but that dedication and commitment will be repaid with a love like you’ve never had before.
