Hi…my name is Coal.

No one knows whether I was “dumpster diving” on my own, or whether I’d been left there deliberately, but in any case, that’s where I was found last September – in a dumpster in Tubac. The fact that I was absolutely ravenous when my rescuer found me indicates that I had been scrounging my meals on my own for quite a while. When I first arrived here I was in pretty sad shape – ringworm, then another infection of some kind, and then, after all that, they found that I am FIV positive, which means that I’m not supposed to live with any other cats. Well, all my ailments are behind me now, and I’m fit as a fiddle and have turned into a playful, outgoing guy (and have even gotten to live and romp with Henry, the other FIV cat here, in the TALGV kitchen when everyone’s gone). It’s been an awfully long time now so I’m hoping that one of these days I can find a gentle soul who will take my life “from rags to riches” and help me forget my homeless days (and maybe even let me bring my friend Henry along, too!).
