Hi…my name is Marisa.

I may be a bit shy at first, but given that I was found wandering the roads on La Cañada Drive near Santo Tomas in Sahuarita, I think I might be forgiven my concern. I am only about a year old, and am a lovely, 34-pound, black Lab/“something else” mix lady who was named after my rescuer. After I’d been here for a month or so, I was adopted by a lovely single lady who had another dog (a Staffordshire terrier who I was great pals with), but my mom didn’t have the time to spend training me and teaching me all the things that well-behaved dogs should know. I was very sweet with her and loved to snuggle, but I was a bit overprotective of her when other humans were around. So…if you’re a “dog person” who has experience with training girls like me, your efforts will be well rewarded with a beautiful, lifelong relationship.
