Hi…my name is Petey.
I’m a 7-month-old, German shorthair pointer mix who was rescued along with my mom and six of my siblings in Madera Canyon when we were just wee babies. The wonderful people who found us kept and nurtured all of us until we got just too big to keep. Because of all the socialization I got in my early days, I am a very people-friendly guy, and get along with everyone (but I’m still basically a puppy so have LOTS of high spirits and energy!). I was adopted by a family who had two other dogs and everyone thought I’d get lots of stimulation and exercise with them, but it turned out my people really didn’t have the time to devote to my education so I am still considered “quite a handful” (albeit a very sweet one!). Well, I know that I’ve got the smarts and the will to learn, and I do want to have a family that will be proud to have me be integral part of it, so if you have experience training rambunctious guys like myself, you couldn’t do better than to take me in hand and make me your best (behaved!) friend.
