Hi…my name is Pilot.

My friends, Amelia, Jet, and I were found abandoned at the back gate of the Flying Diamond Airpark (thus our names!) way out in the desert west of Sahuarita Road back at the end of February. The super people who found us tried to coax us into their car, but we were pretty skittish and declined their offer. We weren’t dummies, however, so we followed their car home and much to our delight we got lots of food, water, and reassurance that everything was going to be okay. It took me longer than my friends to “come around,” but once I did, my rescuers said that I am a gentle fellow who longs to be loved and be part of other dogs’ activities. I am about a year old, and like my friends, am a reddish brown “mini-shepherd” who loves everyone. Although they said that I had only been living outside in a big yard at their home, I am awesomely smart and will learn house manners in no time (they said that if they weren’t limited to three dogs per family where they live, they would have kept me in a nanosecond). The best thing they said though was that “Pilot has the makings of an absolutely wonderful pet” – so I’d really like the chance to prove that to you!
