Hi…my name is Sammy.

Boy do I have a story to tell! Back in April, I was found lying alongside the road almost near death from severe wounds that had been inflicted by a wild animal of some sort (it must have been a big one, because I’m not exactly small myself!). My rescuer took me home and nursed me back to health, but since she was unable to keep me any longer, she brought me here hoping that TALGV could find me a forever home. I am a St. Bernard mix boy who is somewhere between 2 and 5 years old. Everyone agrees that I’m a super dog who is intelligent and only wants to please. I’ve been living with a foster mom for a while, and she says that I am a real “gentle giant” with my own people (adults only, please).  I am very protective of my home and will make a wonderful “only child” watch dog because I take my job very seriously. I’m leash and house trained and am getting better at obedience every day, but I need an “alpha” person in my life who will give me lots of guidance and let me know my boundaries. They say that there is no devotion like that of a rescued dog, so I’d love it if you’d give me a chance to prove that to you!
